Cannabidiol, also known as ‘CBD’, can be used as a tropical treatment to ease back pain. How does the balm work? And how effective is it?
Medical News Today testified: “There is evidence to suggest that it may help treat pain and inflammation.”
Associated with the cannabis plant, CBD doesn’t contain the Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) compound, which can get you “high”.
Mounting evidence has pointed towards the health benefits of CBD application.
Researchers from the Medical University of Białystok, Poland, highlighted its anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory properties.
CBD balm works by “numbing or alleviating back pain”, but it does have its limitations.

She continued: “CBD has an analgesic effect to reduce pain perception in the brain.”
Dr Brewer added that it’s “has anti-inflammatory effects on joints” and can “improve pain and stiffness”.
“Cannabidiol has direct effects on the endocannabinoid system in the brain,” explained Dr Brewer.
“This enhances the effects of other brain chemicals, such as serotonin and anandamide, to reduce pain perception.
“It is also a powerful antioxidant which suppresses inflammation.” Moreover, Dr Brewer shares her advice on buying the product.
“A good pointer of quality is that the manufacturer will be a member of the Cannabis Trades Association UK,” she said.
Dr Brewer is the Medical Director for Healthspan’s range of CBD Oil products, which has been approved by the Cannabis Trades Association UK.
