Get Ready–Joints for Jabs Vaccination Perk Now at WA Pot Shops

Just announced in the last 24 hours, now if you get your COVID vaccine at a pot shop that’s participating in a vaccine program (injection station), you can get high.

Get ready for Joints for Jabs. For Free.

According to the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Control Board:

” In an effort to support COVID-19 vaccinations, the Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) today announced that it would provide a temporary allowance to state licensed cannabis retailers to provide one joint to adult consumers who receive a vaccination at an in-store vaccination clinic.”

Apparently, the momentum for this came from the pot industry. LCB says they’ve received numerous requests from various pot shop owners and others in the industry to raise awareness for the need for people to get vaccinated; therefore we get this.

According to the LCB, if a person 21-or-older gets a vaccine administered at a sanctioned official ‘pop-up’ site or clinic at a pot store, they can receive one pre-rolled marijuana cigarette for free.

The program will last through July 12. More of the conditions from the LCB:

Participating cannabis retailers may only provide a pre-roll joint, and no other product may be provided as part of this allowance.

“Any cannabis joint provided to a customer must be associated with an active vaccine clinic event at the retail location.Only one complimentary joint may be provided to a customer who receives a first or second COVID-19 vaccine dose at the event.Receipt of the complimentary joint must occur during the same visit as receiving the vaccination, and may not be delayed, postponed, or otherwise acquired at a later date or time.”

The pot must come from a state-licensed official processor and seller, and the person has to be at least 21 or older.

The LCB included this ironic statement as part of their informational release about Joints for Jabs:

“The LCB has provided dozens of allowances for alcohol and cannabis licensees throughout the COVID pandemic in an effort to support businesses during the restriction period and to support the vaccine effort.”

That last statement will ring rather hollow to hundreds of businesses around the state, and especially in the Columbia Basin; ones who were shut down or pressured with losing their license for protesting the draconian LCB COVID regulations.

As of this writing, we are looking to see if any area shops are planning to participate in this clinic program.
